In Komi, Father and Son to Stand Trial for Creating Shell Companies and Obtaining 16 Million Rubles in Loans

The Komi Prosecutor's Office has approved an indictment in a case involving shell companies and illegal loans. The defendants are two men: a father and his adult son. Their actions are classified under two articles of the Criminal Code: illegal registration of legal entities and unlawful obtaining of a loan.
The investigation revealed that between August 2022 and September 2023, the suspects submitted documents to the registration authority to establish six companies in the names of nominee individuals. After gaining control over the bank accounts of these organizations, they submitted falsified data regarding the companies' commercial activity to a financial institution. Based on this provided information, the perpetrators remotely secured loans totaling approximately 16 million rubles.
During the preliminary investigation, a freeze was placed on the defendants' property. The total value of the seized assets exceeds two million rubles.
The compiled criminal case files have been forwarded to the Syktyvkar City Court for a trial on the merits.
