Youth Creative Council of the Komi Republic Marks Its First Year of Work

Exactly one year ago, in April 2025, a new chapter in the development of librarianship began in the region. Following the 11th Interregional Workshop "Fresh Perspective: New Library Practices," the Youth Creative Council was established – the first professional association of young specialists in the cultural sector.
The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Archival Affairs of the Komi Republic, is intended to serve as a catalyst for unlocking the professional and creative potential of young librarians.
From initiative to real projects
Over the past year, the Council has proven its effectiveness, transforming from an idea into an active platform for implementing innovative projects. Marina Burmistrova, Minister of Culture and Archival Affairs of the Komi Republic, emphasized: "This association has become an effective platform for realizing the initiatives of young cultural specialists, offering fresh ideas and real projects. The Council has become a laboratory for new solutions and a talent pool for the future of the industry."
Expanding horizons and active participation
The Council's initial membership has now expanded to 16 people, including specialists from Syktyvkar, Sosnogorsk, Ukhta, as well as the Udorsky, Kortkerossky, and Priluzsky districts. These young professionals not only actively participate in republican and interregional festivals such as "Yakov Rochev Gathers Friends" and "Köydys," but also initiate events themselves, for example, a creative platform for the anniversary of Syktyvkar. Regular online meetings allow Council members to jointly plan future actions and discuss promising projects, strengthening team spirit and exchanging experience.
Attracting new talent and ambitious plans
The leader of the Youth Creative Council, Dina Anufrieva, sees the organization's future in expansion and engaging new enthusiasts. "Our main goal today is not just to inform, but to ignite, engage, and inspire," she declares. "The Youth Council is a territory for self-realization, a team of like-minded people with whom any, even the most ambitious, project becomes achievable."
For 2026, the Council has big plans: creating a "repository" of ready-made events on the VKontakte social network, a series of online meetings "About Podcasts and Podcasters," participation in the festival "Yakov Rochev Gathers Friends," and preparation for an inter-district gathering of youth library activists. Any young librarian under 40, ready to share ideas and contribute to the development of the region's culture, can join the Youth Creative Council.
